About MeWelcome 8th grade parents and students! My name is Rachel Watts and this is my fourth year teaching at White House Middle School. In our classroom, students will read, write, learn, and challenge themselves. As I continue to tell students, I do not expect perfection. I do expect hard work, a good attitude, and the willingness to improve!
On a personal note, I have been married to my husband Nathan for over five years. We lived in Kentucky for three years before moving to my hometown White House, Tennessee. We currently have no children of our own but love to spend time with our precious nieces and nephew who live in Louisville, Kentucky. Outside of work, we enjoy spending time with family, friends, and our Lifegroup at Long Hollow in Hendersonville. |
Homework |
Students are required to read outside of class every week and complete a reading response every two weeks. Students have a list of questions to choose from as well as assignment guidelines and due dates. Any homework assignments or upcoming tests will be announced in class and through the Remind app.

Notebooks
|
Students are expected to bring a 3-ring binder and journal or composition book to class each day. The binders are used to hold class documents by quarter. Students use journals to complete notes and QuickWrites. I keep students' past assessments in the classroom for reference which you are always welcome to request.
My expectation is for students to bring a good attitude each day and give their very best effort on each task. I will notify the student, parents, and office if that expectation goes unmet. |
